Sanandan Upadhyay/Ballia: A farmer from Patkhauli village of Ballia, who describes himself as poor and illiterate, remains in the news all the time due to his strange actions. This farmer named Naveen Kumar Rai has been in the news for sometimes delivering letters to the DM by riding a camel and sometimes reaching among all the officials on Samadhan Divas with injured stray animals. He has also created buzz for filing nomination riding on a donkey. Now a new exploit of Naveen is being discussed.

Naveen had gone to sell chaff and grains to the DM as security fee for filing nomination for the Lok Sabha elections on 03 May 2024. This matter also remained in the headlines. The story of his selling chaff and grains was not over yet Naveen once again came into limelight with his new exploit.

Naveen Kumar Rai, a resident of Patkhauli village of Hanumanganj in the district, told that Lok Sabha elections are going on. Regarding this, he also has a desire to serve the public. He told that he is a poor farmer and he has a tractor, which he will enroll by mortgaging. Naveen has also received the nomination form and has also prepared the manifesto. According to his manifesto, Naveen will raise issues related to unemployment, farmers, journalists and health in Parliament.

Naveen Kumar Rai told that on May 3, 2024, he had gone to District Election Officer Ballia Ravindra Kumar with chaff and grains. He asked him to keep his chaff and grain and give him some money, so that he can serve the public by paying the security fee and contesting the elections.

According to Naveen, when he went to collect the nomination form, he was told that it was impossible to enroll on chaff and grains. After this, he mortgaged his tractor and decided to file nomination on 14 May 2024. He said that later when the crop is ready again, Naveen will get his tractor released from the Election Commission by selling it.

Naveen Kumar told that no one is at war here, everyone is at war with him. He said that he will shake hands with whoever shakes his hand. He described himself as the winning candidate and said that in 2014 he had gone to file nomination sitting on a donkey. However, Naveen’s entire planning and hard work went in vain when his nomination was rejected due to some reasons.

Farmer Naveen sends kurta, dhoti and gamchha to the Prime Minister by post every Holi and Diwali. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sends a letter to this person on his birthday. Naveen has preserved the letters sent by the Prime Minister.
